A job interview can be one of the most intimidating and stressful events that you have to plan for. And, sometimes, making a good first physical impression isn’t always an attainable option. Take haircuts for example–if you are in dire need of employment, a trip to the barber might be out of the question due to financial instability.
But, luckily, for employment-seekers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, there is a barber willing to help. “The Great Barber Shop” offers free haircuts and shaves to men on their way to a job interview in hopes to help them leave a good impression on a potential employer. All that the customer has to do is send the barber shop an email with evidence of an upcoming job interview and schedule the cut.
Henrique Campos, one of The Great Barber Shop’s owners, said that he first came up with the idea back in June while hanging out with some friends at a bar. “A friend of mine said he had a job interview that week and needed a hair cut to give a better first impression – so I offered one,” said Campos. “After that, I figured I could expand the initiative.”
“Many can’t afford to cut their hair when a job opportunity presents itself. I’m helping people and promoting my business at the same time. A truly win-win situation.” Campos added.
